  • Author: Alioui
  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 20 servings 1x

Description

These Guacamole Cream Cheese Wontons are a delightful appetizer combining creamy filling and crispy shells.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 ripe avocados, mashed
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 green onions, finely sliced
  • 20 wonton wrappers
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Begin by heating vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat, aiming for a temperature of 350°F (175°C). If you prefer baking, preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed avocados with lime juice, salt, and garlic powder. Use a fork to mix until the ingredients are well incorporated. Then, gently fold in the softened cream cheese and sliced green onions.
  3. Take a wonton wrapper and lay it flat. Place approximately 1 teaspoon of the filling in the center. Wet the edges lightly with water and fold the wonton into your desired shape.
  4. Once assembled, carefully add them to the hot oil in batches. Cook each side for about 2-3 minutes until golden brown. If baking, brush with oil and bake for 10-12 minutes.
  5. After frying, remove from oil and let drain on a wire rack. Garnish if desired and serve warm.

Notes

For easier wrapping, chill the filling in the refrigerator before assembly. You can freeze unbaked wontons for up to 2 months.
