Description
These Guacamole Cream Cheese Wontons are a delightful appetizer combining creamy filling and crispy shells.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 ripe avocados, mashed
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 green onions, finely sliced
- 20 wonton wrappers
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- Begin by heating vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat, aiming for a temperature of 350°F (175°C). If you prefer baking, preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed avocados with lime juice, salt, and garlic powder. Use a fork to mix until the ingredients are well incorporated. Then, gently fold in the softened cream cheese and sliced green onions.
- Take a wonton wrapper and lay it flat. Place approximately 1 teaspoon of the filling in the center. Wet the edges lightly with water and fold the wonton into your desired shape.
- Once assembled, carefully add them to the hot oil in batches. Cook each side for about 2-3 minutes until golden brown. If baking, brush with oil and bake for 10-12 minutes.
- After frying, remove from oil and let drain on a wire rack. Garnish if desired and serve warm.
Notes
For easier wrapping, chill the filling in the refrigerator before assembly. You can freeze unbaked wontons for up to 2 months.
