- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
Instructions
- Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare your cake pans by greasing them lightly with butter or oil and dusting them with flour.
- In a large mixing bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Crack the eggs into the mixing bowl, followed by pouring in the whole milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Mix these ingredients using an electric mixer on medium speed for about two minutes.
- Carefully add one cup of boiling water to the cake batter and mix until everything is well combined.
- Evenly divide the batter between the prepared cake pans and bake for about 30 to 35 minutes.
Notes
Be careful when adding boiling water; a splash can cause burns. Use high-quality cocoa powder for the best taste.
