Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 cup glutinous rice flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup water
  • (optional) food coloring
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch or potato starch
  • (optional) extra mango puree or small mango chunks

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Mango Puree: Peel and cut mango into pieces, then blend until smooth and strain for silkiness.
  2. Make the Mango Filling: Cook strained puree, sugar, and cornstarch over medium heat until thickened, form balls and freeze.
  3. Prepare the Mochi Dough: Blend glutinous rice flour, sugar, and water, add food coloring, microwave until sticky and translucent.
  4. Shape the Mochi: Cut dough into pieces, wrap around mango filling, pinch edges to seal.
  5. Final Touches: Dust with cornstarch, chill for 10-15 minutes before serving.
