Description

Nothing elevates a simple dessert quite like Honey-Roasted Spiced Pears with Berries & Blue Cheese. This elegant dish marries the natural sweetness of pears with the deep, complex flavors of honey and cinnamon.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ripe but firm pears, peeled and halved
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup fresh raspberries
  • 1/4 cup blueberries
  • 1/4 cup red currants (or substitute with more berries)
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • 3 tbsp crumbled blue cheese
  • Fresh mint leaves, for garnish
  • Extra honey, for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). While the oven warms up, take the time to peel your pears and then cut them in half. Removing the core can help with improved flavor absorption during roasting, so be sure to scoop out any seeds left inside.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, honey, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. This mixture acts as both a sweet glaze and a flavor enhancer.
  3. Place the baking dish into your preheated oven and set a timer for 30–35 minutes. During this time, the pears will soften and take on that warm, golden hue.
  4. Once the pears are tender, remove them from the oven and carefully transfer each half onto serving plates while still warm. Scatter fresh raspberries, blueberries, and red currants around and on top of the pears.

Notes

Serve warm as an impressive dessert at dinner parties. Pair with a light dessert wine or sparkling water for an elegant experience.
