Indian Salad with Tomato Mint Dressing

  • Author: Alioui
  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

A refreshing and flavorful salad with a vibrant tomato mint dressing.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 tomatoes, diced
  • 1 cucumber, diced
  • 1 small red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1/2 cup fresh mint leaves, chopped
  • 1 green chili, finely chopped (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon black salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Begin by taking a large mixing bowl and adding the diced tomatoes, cucumber, and the finely chopped red onion. Ensure that each vegetable is roughly equally sized to allow an even distribution of flavors in each bite.
  2. Gently fold in the freshly chopped cilantro and mint leaves to the vegetable mix. If you prefer a little extra heat, include the finely chopped green chili at this stage. Mix everything gently to distribute the herbs evenly without bruising them.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, ground cumin, salt, and pepper until they form a cohesive blend. This dressing will carry the fresh and aromatic punches of the salad’s ingredients.
  4. Drizzle the prepared dressing over the salad and toss lightly to ensure each piece is coated. Sprinkle the optional black salt if desired, and give a final gentle mix to bring everything together. Serve immediately, or let it chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld beautifully.

Notes
