  • Cinnamon sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Start by preheating your waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and cornstarch. Mix these dry ingredients thoroughly. Next, whisk in one large egg, followed by the milk and oil until everything is well combined. Gently fold in the shredded apples.
  3. Once your batter is ready, spray the waffle iron with a nonstick cooking spray. Then, use a tablespoon to drop the batter onto the waffle iron. Cook the donuts for about 3 to 5 minutes.
  4. While your donut waffles are cooling, prepare the glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until you reach a smooth consistency.
