Description

If you’re looking for a delightful dessert that combines creamy textures with fruity freshness, you must try these Banana Pudding Cups.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (5.1 oz) box instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 3 cups cold whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 (12 oz) container whipped topping, thawed
  • 45 ripe bananas
  • 1 box vanilla wafers (about 11 oz)
  • Extra whipped cream or topping for garnish
  • Crushed vanilla wafers for garnish
  • Banana slices for garnish
  • Caramel drizzle (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the instant vanilla pudding mix and cold whole milk. Using a whisk, beat the mixture for about 2-3 minutes, until you notice it thickening up slightly. If you like, add in the optional vanilla extract for an extra flavor boost. Once combined, place the pudding mixture in the refrigerator so it can chill for at least 5 minutes while you prepare the other components.
  2. While your pudding is chilling, grab another large bowl and beat the softened cream cheese using an electric mixer. Mix it until it’s completely smooth with no lumps. Once smooth, add the sweetened condensed milk and beat again until everything is well combined. Gently fold in half of the thawed whipped topping into this mixture, ensuring it stays light and fluffy.
  3. Peel the ripe bananas and slice them into approximately ¼-inch thick rounds. To avoid browning, you can lightly toss the banana slices in lemon juice—this step is optional, but it helps maintain the bananas’ bright appearance.
  4. Using your prepared cups or jars, start by placing a layer of vanilla wafers at the bottom. Follow this with a generous layer of banana slices, then add a layer of the cheesecake mixture, followed by a layer of the chilled pudding. Repeat these layers until the cups are filled, ending with a topping of the remaining whipped topping for a pristine finish.
  5. After all cups are assembled, it’s essential to refrigerate them for at least 2-3 hours before serving—this allows the flavors to meld beautifully. When you’re ready to serve, feel free to top each cup with extra whipped cream, crushed vanilla wafers, fresh banana slices, or even a drizzle of caramel if you desire a touch of sweetness!

Notes

The riper the bananas, the sweeter and more flavorful they will be in your pudding cups.
