- 1 tablespoon baking powder

- 2 cups buttermilk (cold)
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh chives (optional)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cups peaches, peeled and chopped (fresh or canned, drained)
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/4 cup peach preserves or jam
- 1 tablespoon water
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C). Place the butter in your baking dish to melt while the oven heats.
- Combine flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, and baking soda in a bowl; whisk to mix.
- Add cold buttermilk and stir gently until just combined without overmixing.
- Dollop the biscuit dough into the melted butter in the baking dish.
- Mix chopped peaches with brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice; spoon over the biscuit dough.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until biscuits are golden brown.
- Glaze the biscuits with warmed peach preserves mixed with water after baking.
- Let rest briefly before serving warm.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container. Can substitute frozen peaches for fresh.
