  • Author: Alioui

Description

This Philly Cheese Steak Crescent is a delightful blend of savory steak, peppers, and melted cheese enveloped in a flaky crescent roll, perfect for any gathering!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 15 ml olive oil
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 225 g thinly sliced ribeye or sirloin steak
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2.5 ml garlic powder
  • 2.5 ml Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tube (225 g) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 6 slices provolone cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Begin by preheating your oven to 190°C (375°F). While the oven heats up, take out a skillet and pour in the olive oil. Turn the heat to medium, and once the oil is hot, add the thinly sliced onions and green bell peppers. Sauté these vegetables until they become tender and fragrant, usually about 3 to 5 minutes.
  2. After the onions and peppers have softened, it’s time to add the main protein. Toss in the thinly sliced ribeye or sirloin steak, seasoning it with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Cook this mixture, stirring occasionally, until the steak is browned and fully cooked, which should take around 5 to 7 minutes.
  3. With your filling ready, it’s time to prepare the crescent roll dough. Unroll the refrigerated crescent roll tube and carefully arrange the triangular pieces on your prepared baking sheet in a circular shape. Ensure that the points of the triangles are facing outward, creating a star-like pattern.
  4. Now that your ring is assembled, take the beaten egg and brush it over the top of the dough. Sprinkle sesame seeds over the egg wash for an added crunch. Place your crescent ring in the preheated oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes.

Notes

Do not overfill the crescent ring; too much filling can cause it to burst open while baking.
