  • ¾ cup chocolate chips or ½ cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Begin your baking journey by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). While the oven heats up, take a moment to grease your loaf pans or line them with parchment paper for easy removal later.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine your all-purpose flour, baking soda, salt, and the aromatic spices: cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and ginger. Use a whisk to ensure the dry ingredients are well blended.
  3. In another bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Whisk together these ingredients until you achieve a smooth mixture.
  4. Carefully add the dry ingredient mixture to your wet ingredients. Stir gently with a spatula just until everything is well mixed; avoid overmixing.
  5. If you’re adding chocolate chips or walnuts, gently fold them into your batter.
  6. Divvy up your batter evenly between the two prepared loaf pans. Smooth the tops with a spatula. Then, pop them into your preheated oven and bake!
