Description

Roasted Garlic Cowboy Butter is a culinary treat that enhances everything from steaks to veggies.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 head of garlic
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Begin by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C). Take the head of garlic and cut off the top to expose the cloves slightly. Drizzle with olive oil, ensuring it’s well coated, and wrap it tightly in aluminum foil. Place it in the oven and allow it to roast for 35-40 minutes.
  2. While your garlic is roasting, you can prepare the butter. In a medium saucepan, add the softened unsalted butter. Heat it on low, stirring gently to melt it without browning.
  3. Incorporate the roasted garlic into the melted butter. Use a whisk or a fork to mash the garlic and blend it into the butter thoroughly, creating a creamy mixture. Next, fold in the Dijon mustard and Worcestershire sauce, mixing well to combine.
  4. Stir in the freshly squeezed lemon juice, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, crushed red pepper flakes, sea salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Let the mixture simmer on low heat for 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently.
  5. Once your butter has simmered and the flavors infused, remove it from the heat. Stir in the fresh parsley and chives.
  6. Your Roasted Garlic Cowboy Butter is now ready to be served! Spoon it into ramekins or small bowls and enjoy it warm.

Notes

Feel free to adjust the spice levels in the recipe according to your heat preference. This butter can be stored in the fridge for about a week.
