Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, finely minced
  • 800 grams canned crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 50 grams grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Start by bringing a large pot of salted water to a vigorous boil. Add the spaghetti and cook until al dente, reserving half a cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. Add olive oil to a deep skillet over medium heat and sauté minced garlic until fragrant.
  3. Add crushed tomatoes, season with salt and pepper, and let the sauce simmer for about 15 minutes.
  4. Add cooked spaghetti to the sauce, tossing to coat, and add reserved pasta water if necessary.
  5. Stir in grated Parmesan cheese and serve immediately with additional cheese and pepper on top.
