Description
If you’re seeking a show-stopping appetizer that marries the luxurious flavors of the ocean with the homey comfort of garlic bread, look no further than this Shrimp and Jumbo Lump Crab Garlic Bread.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 loaf French bread, sliced lengthwise
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp chopped parsley
- 8 oz shrimp, peeled, deveined, and chopped
- 6 oz jumbo lump crabmeat
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Lemon wedges, for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Start by setting your oven to preheat at 375°F (190°C). As it warms, get your baking sheet ready by lining it with parchment paper. In a small bowl, mix softened butter with chopped garlic and parsley to create a fragrant spread. Use a spatula or a pastry brush to distribute the mixture evenly on the cut sides of the bread.
- Place a skillet over medium heat, adding the chopped shrimp with a pinch of salt and pepper. Sauté the shrimp for 2 to 3 minutes until they turn opaque and just cooked through. Remove the skillet from heat and leave the shrimp to cool slightly.
- In a medium-sized bowl, gently fold together the cooked shrimp, sweet crabmeat, a dollop of mayonnaise, grated Parmesan, and shredded mozzarella. Season with additional salt and pepper to taste.
- Spread the seafood mixture evenly across the prepared garlic-buttered bread. Place the filled bread halves onto the baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes.
- Once out of the oven, allow the bread to cool slightly. This helps in cutting neat slices without the cheese and filling running out.
Notes
Use fresh seafood for the best flavor. Adjust the amount of cheese based on your personal preference.
