Instructions
- Begin by thoroughly mashing the ripe banana in a bowl until you achieve a smooth consistency with minimal lumps.
- In a medium saucepan, combine your mashed banana with water, brown sugar, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and a pinch of salt. Stir until the mixture is uniform.
- Place the saucepan on the stove over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally. Let it simmer for about 10 to 12 minutes.
- Once the syrup has thickened slightly, remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Pour the syrup through a fine mesh strainer into a heat-safe container.
