Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together.
  3. Cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time and then mix in the vanilla extract.
  5. Combine wet and dry ingredients alternately until just mixed.
  6. Prepare the swirl mixture by mixing walnuts, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  7. Layer half of the batter, add half of the swirl, then the rest of the batter and then the remaining swirl.
  8. Bake for 35-40 minutes until done.
  9. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes then completely on a wire rack before slicing.

Notes

Do not over-mix the batter for a light texture.
