This comforting dish combines flavorful meatballs with creamy sauce over pasta, perfect for dinner!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp allspice
- 12 oz pasta (e.g., fettuccine or egg noodles)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, finely chopped onion, egg, salt, black pepper, and allspice. Mix gently until fully incorporated, then form 1-inch meatballs and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs in a single layer and brown them on all sides for about 10 minutes, ensuring they are cooked through. Remove and set aside.
- Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente, then drain.
- Lower the skillet heat and add butter. Once melted, mix in flour until golden brown, then whisk in beef broth, cream, and Worcestershire sauce, simmering until thickened (5–7 minutes).
- Return meatballs to the sauce to soak up flavor.
- Combine pasta with meatballs and sauce, garnish with parsley, and serve hot.
Notes
For best results, use lean ground beef and adjust the creaminess of the sauce to your preference.
