- 1 1/2 cups chopped dates

Instructions
- Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time and stir in vanilla.
- Whisk dry ingredients in a separate bowl.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
- Fold in chopped dates, nuts, and optional ingredients.
- Chill the dough for 10-15 minutes.
- Preheat the oven and line baking sheets.
- Scoop 1.5-inch balls onto baking sheets and bake for 10-12 minutes.
- Cool on a wire rack and enjoy!
