- 2 lbs sweet potatoes, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup fresh cranberries
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
- ½ cup breadcrumbs
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large pot, boil the sliced sweet potatoes for 10 to 15 minutes until fork-tender, then drain.
- In a mixing bowl, combine heavy cream, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, and pepper; whisk until smooth.
- Layer half the sweet potatoes in a greased baking dish followed by half the cranberries and half the cream mixture; repeat layers.
- Top with shredded Gruyère cheese and breadcrumbs, then bake for 30 to 35 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
Allow the gratin to sit for about 10 minutes before serving for best texture.
