  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

Thai Basil Beef Rolls offer a unique and exciting dining experience that transports you to the streets of Bangkok, blending savory and fresh flavors for a must-try recipe.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cups fresh Thai basil leaves
  • 1 medium bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 package rice paper wrappers

Instructions

  1. Begin by heating a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook it to perfection by stirring regularly to ensure thorough browning for about 5 minutes.
  2. To the skillet containing the cooked beef, add the thinly sliced bell pepper. Drizzle with soy sauce and keep stirring. Allow the mixture to cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  3. With the heat turned off, stir in the fresh Thai basil leaves. Allow the beef filling to rest and cool slightly.
  4. Prepare a large bowl with warm water. Dip each rice paper wrapper into the water for 10-15 seconds until it becomes soft and pliable.
  5. Lay a softened wrapper on a clean surface. Place a portion of the beef mixture onto the lower third of the wrapper. Lift the bottom edge over the filling, tuck in the sides, and roll tightly to form a compact roll.
  6. Continue the same process with the remaining beef mixture and rice paper wrappers until all are used.
  7. Heat a small amount of oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat. Place the rolls in the pan, seam-side down, and cook each side for 2-3 minutes until they achieve a golden and crisp exterior.
  8. Once the rolls are beautifully golden, allow them to cool slightly and serve warm.

Notes

  • Always cook the beef until it’s well-browned to bring out the savory depth necessary for this dish.
  • Ensure basil is fresh and vibrant; its aroma is a vital component of the rolls’ appeal.
