- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for custard)
- 4 large egg yolks
- 3 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter (for custard)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C), unroll puff pastry, roll thin, cut into rectangles, bake until golden (12-15 minutes), cool.
- In a skillet, melt butter, add apples, sugar, and cinnamon, cook until soft (5-7 minutes), cool.
- Heat milk until steaming. Whisk yolks, sugar, cornstarch; add milk gradually. Cook mixture until thick, then add butter and vanilla, chill.
- Assemble with layers of pastry, custard, and apples, finishing with custard. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
