  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 12 oz whipped topping (like Cool Whip), thawed
  • 21 oz cherry pie filling

Instructions

  1. Begin your layering process by taking the prepared angel food cake and cutting it into neat 1-inch cubes. Spread half of these cake cubes evenly across the bottom of your 9×13-inch pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until it’s smooth, then incorporate the sugar and vanilla extract. Gently fold in the whipped topping.
  3. Spread half of the creamy mixture over the initial cake layer. Add remaining cake cubes and press down gently. Top with the remaining cream cheese mixture.
  4. Spoon the cherry pie filling over the cream layer, spreading it out evenly.
  5. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

Notes

Ensure cream cheese is fully softened for blending. For lighter texture, substitute part with Greek yogurt.
