- 1 prepared angel food cake, cubed
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 12 oz whipped topping (like Cool Whip), thawed
- 21 oz cherry pie filling
Instructions
- Begin your layering process by taking the prepared angel food cake and cutting it into neat 1-inch cubes. Spread half of these cake cubes evenly across the bottom of your 9×13-inch pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until it’s smooth, then incorporate the sugar and vanilla extract. Gently fold in the whipped topping.
- Spread half of the creamy mixture over the initial cake layer. Add remaining cake cubes and press down gently. Top with the remaining cream cheese mixture.
- Spoon the cherry pie filling over the cream layer, spreading it out evenly.
- Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
Notes
Ensure cream cheese is fully softened for blending. For lighter texture, substitute part with Greek yogurt.
