There’s something undeniably special about a classic homemade Margherita Pizza.
Ingredients

- 1 ball pizza dough (about 250g)
- 4 oz fresh mozzarella, sliced and patted dry
- 2 medium ripe tomatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 handful fresh basil leaves
- 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1/4 tsp sea salt
- 1/8 tsp black pepper
- Optional: 1 clove garlic, minced or garlic-infused olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 500°F (260°C).
- Remove your dough ball from the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature (about 30 minutes).
- Stretch the dough into a circle about 10 to 12 inches in diameter.
- Distribute sliced mozzarella over the dough.
- Arrange sliced tomatoes on top of the cheese.
- Sprinkle sea salt and black pepper over the toppings.
- Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil or add minced garlic.
- Bake for 8–12 minutes until the crust is golden brown and cheese is gooey.
- Remove from the oven and add fresh basil leaves on top.
- Let it sit for 2–3 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Allow the pizza to rest for a few minutes before slicing to prevent toppings from sliding off.
