Description
An elegant appetizer that captures the essence of luxury, seamlessly blending flaky croissants with a creamy lobster salad.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 2/3 cups lobster meat, cooked and chopped (about 1 lb 7 oz)
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise (about 3 oz)
- 1/4 cup celery, small diced (about 2 oz)
- 1 Tbsp tarragon, finely chopped
- 1 Tbsp lemon zest
- 24 mini croissants (Pillsbury™ Freezer-to-Oven Croissant Dough, 1.25 oz each)
- Fresh chives, finely chopped (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Begin by preheating your oven according to the package instructions for the croissants. Carefully remove the croissant dough from its packaging and arrange them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Pop them in the oven and bake until they are golden and flaky, which should take about 15-20 minutes. Once baked, allow the croissants to cool completely on a wire rack.
- While the croissants are cooling, focus on making the lobster salad. In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped lobster meat and mayonnaise, stirring gently so as not to break up the lobster pieces. The mayonnaise will give the salad its creaminess and rich flavor. Next, add in the diced celery, finely chopped tarragon, and zesty lemon zest. Stir the mixture carefully, ensuring all ingredients are evenly coated. Once prepared, cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place it in the fridge to chill until you’re ready to assemble.
- Once the croissants are completely cooled and your lobster salad is chilled, it’s time to assemble these elegant rolls. Take each croissant and slice it from the top down about three-quarters through to create a pocket. This is where the star of the show—the lobster salad—will go. For each croissant, fill it with approximately 1 ounce of the lobster mixture, ensuring each one contains enough lobster salad to taste delightful.
- Finally, before serving, sprinkle each filled croissant with freshly chopped chives for a burst of color and added flavor. Arrange two sliders per serving on a beautiful platter, ready for your guests to enjoy. The combination of warm croissant and cold lobster salad makes each bite a delectable contrast that will leave everyone craving more.
Notes
These can be made ahead of time—simply assemble them an hour before serving and keep them refrigerated until ready.
