Description
If you’re looking for a festive and indulgent treat to brighten up your holiday celebrations, look no further than these delightful Christmas Chocolate Hot Cups.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- Mini marshmallows for topping
- Crushed candy canes or holiday sprinkles for garnish
- Mini plastic or wooden spoons
- Mini paper cups
Instructions
- Begin by preparing your cups. If you’re using a mini muffin tin, line it with muffin liners; if you’re opting for mini paper cups, place them on a tray to keep things stable.
- In a heatproof bowl, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips, heavy cream, and unsalted butter. Place the bowl over a pot of simmering water, creating a double boiler effect. Stir the mixture as it melts until it’s completely smooth and shiny.
- Once the chocolate mixture is melted and velvety, remove it from the heat. Stir in the salt and vanilla extract.
- Using a spoon, carefully fill the prepared cups with the melted chocolate mixture. Avoid overfilling, as you’ll need some space for the toppings.
- Top the filled chocolate cups with mini marshmallows and a sprinkle of crushed candy canes or festive holiday sprinkles.
- Carefully place the tray of filled cups in the refrigerator. Allow them to chill for at least 2 hours, or until the chocolate has fully set.
- Once the cups are set, they’re ready to be enjoyed! Simply take a chocolate cup, stir it into a mug of hot milk, and watch as it melts into a deliciously rich hot chocolate.
