Description

If you’re looking for a festive and indulgent treat to brighten up your holiday celebrations, look no further than these delightful Christmas Chocolate Hot Cups.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Mini marshmallows for topping
  • Crushed candy canes or holiday sprinkles for garnish
  • Mini plastic or wooden spoons
  • Mini paper cups

Instructions

  1. Begin by preparing your cups. If you’re using a mini muffin tin, line it with muffin liners; if you’re opting for mini paper cups, place them on a tray to keep things stable.
  2. In a heatproof bowl, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips, heavy cream, and unsalted butter. Place the bowl over a pot of simmering water, creating a double boiler effect. Stir the mixture as it melts until it’s completely smooth and shiny.
  3. Once the chocolate mixture is melted and velvety, remove it from the heat. Stir in the salt and vanilla extract.
  4. Using a spoon, carefully fill the prepared cups with the melted chocolate mixture. Avoid overfilling, as you’ll need some space for the toppings.
  5. Top the filled chocolate cups with mini marshmallows and a sprinkle of crushed candy canes or festive holiday sprinkles.
  6. Carefully place the tray of filled cups in the refrigerator. Allow them to chill for at least 2 hours, or until the chocolate has fully set.
  7. Once the cups are set, they’re ready to be enjoyed! Simply take a chocolate cup, stir it into a mug of hot milk, and watch as it melts into a deliciously rich hot chocolate.

Notes

Make sure to use high-quality chocolate chips for the best flavor.
