Description
This festive golden puff pastry Christmas tree filled with creamy spinach, feta, and cranberries will be a stunning addition to your holiday table.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
- 1 1/2 cups fresh spinach, finely chopped
- 3/4 cup feta cheese, crumbled
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon cracked black pepper
- 1/4 cup dried cranberries, chopped
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the finely chopped spinach with crumbled feta and softened cream cheese. Add in minced garlic, nutmeg, and cracked black pepper. Fold in the chopped dried cranberries.
- Lay one sheet of puff pastry onto your lined baking sheet. Spread the creamy mixture evenly, leaving a border around the edges. Place the second sheet of puff pastry over, pressing lightly to seal.
- Cut the shape of a Christmas tree out of the layered puff pastry. Make cuts for branches without cutting through the middle to twist each branch outwards.
- Brush the surface with beaten egg wash and sprinkle sesame seeds. Bake for 22-28 minutes until golden, puffy, and crisp.
Notes
For a vegan version, use plant-based alternatives for cream cheese and feta. Ensure puff pastry remains cold until ready to use.
