Description

A playful dessert that combines colorful layers of cake, creamy filling, and crunchy cookies for Halloween fun.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box White Cake Mix (substitute with yellow cake mix for a different look)
  • 1 package Instant Vanilla Pudding Mix
  • 3 large Egg Whites
  • 1 cup Milk (any non-dairy milk can be used)
  • 1 cup Sour Cream (substitute with Greek yogurt for a healthier version)
  • 1/2 cup Vegetable Oil (melted butter can be used for added flavor)
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract (can replace with almond extract for variety)
  • 1 teaspoon Food Coloring (green and purple, skip for a classic look)
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream (whipping coconut cream is a dairy-free alternative)
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese (Neufchâtel cheese can be used for a lighter version)
  • 1/2 cup Powdered Sugar (regular sugar can be used but may affect texture)
  • 15 cookies Oreos (can substitute with other sandwich cookies)
  • Sprinkles (optional for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your oven by preheating to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 8-inch round cake pans with non-stick spray, lining the bottoms with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the white cake mix, vanilla pudding mix, egg whites, milk, sour cream, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Mix on medium speed for about two minutes until well combined.
  3. Divide the batter into two bowls. Add green food coloring to one and purple food coloring to the other, mixing well. Pour into prepared cake pans and bake for 28-30 minutes.
  4. Allow cakes to cool completely, then cut into small cubes.
  5. Whip the heavy cream into stiff peaks and blend cream cheese with powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth. Gently fold in the whipped cream.
  6. Layer in jars with green cake cubes, crushed Oreos, cream filling, and purple cake cubes until containers are nearly full. Top with crushed Oreos and sprinkles.
