Description

Juicy beef meatballs in a silky mushroom gravy, perfect for a cozy night or an impressive dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • ⅓ cup breadcrumbs
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, beaten egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Form into golf ball-sized meatballs.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Brown meatballs on all sides, about 8 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  3. Melt butter in the skillet, add mushrooms and onions, cook until golden, about 5 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle flour over mushrooms, stir for 1–2 minutes. Gradually add beef broth, whisking until smooth. Stir in Worcestershire sauce and mustard.
  5. Return meatballs to the skillet, cover, and simmer for 10 minutes. Adjust seasoning.

Notes

Serve over pasta, mashed potatoes, or alongside roasted vegetables.
