Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 4 cups green cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup carrots, julienned or shredded
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 3 green onions, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes or 1 tsp chili garlic sauce (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prep all ingredients: slice cabbage, shred carrots, mince garlic, and chop green onions.
  2. Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  3. Add ground beef to the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes, breaking apart as it cooks.
  4. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.
  5. Add carrots and cabbage; stir and cook for another 5-7 minutes until cabbage is tender but crunchy.
  6. Pour in soy sauce and sesame oil; mix well.
  7. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to meld flavors.
  8. Garnish with green onions and serve hot.
