Ferrero Rocher Chocolate Flan

  • Author: Alioui
  • Total Time: 4 hours and 20 minutes
  • Yield: 10 servings 1x

Description

A decadent chocolate flan featuring Ferrero Rocher chocolates that offers a luxurious dessert experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 Ferrero Rocher chocolates: These add the nutty, chocolate flavor that makes this flan extra special.
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk: Provides the perfect level of sweetness.
  • 1 cup evaporated milk: Adds creaminess without making it too thick.
  • 1 cup heavy cream: Essential for achieving that smooth, decadent texture.
  • 4 large eggs: Eggs are the backbone of the flan’s structure.
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder: For a richer chocolate flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract: Enhances the flavors and adds warmth.
  • Caramel sauce: This will be the base layer, giving the flan its beautiful caramel topping.
  • Optional substitutions:
  • Dairy-free? Use coconut milk or almond milk in place of evaporated milk and heavy cream.
  • For a nut-free version, omit Ferrero Rocher and use a chocolate alternative.

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Caramel Base: Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Take a round cake pan and grease it generously to prevent sticking. Pour a thin layer of caramel sauce over the base, ensuring even coverage.
  2. Blend the Ingredients: In a blender, combine the Ferrero Rocher chocolates, sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, heavy cream, eggs, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract. Blend on high speed until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy.
  3. Pour and Prepare for Baking: Carefully pour the blended flan mixture over the caramel layer in the cake pan. Place this cake pan inside a larger baking dish. Fill the larger dish with hot water until it reaches halfway up the sides of the cake pan.
  4. Bake: Once everything is set, place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 60 to 70 minutes. The flan is ready when a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  5. Refrigerate and Serve: After cooling, refrigerate the flan for at least 4 hours or preferably overnight. When ready to serve, run a knife around the edges of the flan to loosen it, then gently invert it onto a serving plate.

Notes

Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature before blending for optimal consistency.
