Description
A decadent chocolate flan featuring Ferrero Rocher chocolates that offers a luxurious dessert experience.
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 Ferrero Rocher chocolates: These add the nutty, chocolate flavor that makes this flan extra special.
- 1 cup sweetened condensed milk: Provides the perfect level of sweetness.
- 1 cup evaporated milk: Adds creaminess without making it too thick.
- 1 cup heavy cream: Essential for achieving that smooth, decadent texture.
- 4 large eggs: Eggs are the backbone of the flan’s structure.
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder: For a richer chocolate flavor.
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract: Enhances the flavors and adds warmth.
- Caramel sauce: This will be the base layer, giving the flan its beautiful caramel topping.
- Optional substitutions:
- Dairy-free? Use coconut milk or almond milk in place of evaporated milk and heavy cream.
- For a nut-free version, omit Ferrero Rocher and use a chocolate alternative.
Instructions
- Prepare the Caramel Base: Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Take a round cake pan and grease it generously to prevent sticking. Pour a thin layer of caramel sauce over the base, ensuring even coverage.
- Blend the Ingredients: In a blender, combine the Ferrero Rocher chocolates, sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, heavy cream, eggs, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract. Blend on high speed until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy.
- Pour and Prepare for Baking: Carefully pour the blended flan mixture over the caramel layer in the cake pan. Place this cake pan inside a larger baking dish. Fill the larger dish with hot water until it reaches halfway up the sides of the cake pan.
- Bake: Once everything is set, place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 60 to 70 minutes. The flan is ready when a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Refrigerate and Serve: After cooling, refrigerate the flan for at least 4 hours or preferably overnight. When ready to serve, run a knife around the edges of the flan to loosen it, then gently invert it onto a serving plate.
