  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped chocolate chunks
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prep your muffin tin with paper liners.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until fully incorporated.
  5. Alternately add the dry ingredients and buttermilk to the wet mixture, mixing gently until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chunks and walnuts if using.
  7. Divide the batter among muffin cups and drizzle with caramel sauce.
  8. Bake for 18-20 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Drizzle with additional caramel before serving.
