The Texas Chocolate Pecan Pie is a rich and indulgent dessert with a buttery crust and gooey chocolate filling, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pre-made 9-inch pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup packed brown sugar
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1½ cups pecan halves
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Whipped cream, for garnish (optional)
- Extra pecans or chocolate shavings, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll out your pie crust on a lightly floured surface, and transfer it into your 9-inch pie dish. Trim any overhanging edges and flute the rim of the crust to create a decorative edge. Chill crust in the fridge while you prepare filling.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the light corn syrup, granulated sugar, packed brown sugar, melted butter, large eggs, vanilla extract, and salt. Whisk until smooth.
- Add the pecan halves and chocolate chips to the filling mixture. Stir gently to coat.
- Pour the filling into the chilled crust, spreading it evenly. Place on a baking sheet to catch drips and bake for 50 to 55 minutes until filling is set.
- Let cool completely before slicing, then serve plain or topped with whipped cream.
