  • Author: Alioui

Description

Indulging in these Chocolate Mint Creams is more than just satisfying a sweet craving — it’s experiencing the perfect blend of flavors and textures.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon heavy cream (plus more if needed)
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • Green food coloring (optional)
  • 1 cup semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil or shortening

Instructions

  1. Begin by making the mint cream. In a medium-sized bowl, cream together the powdered sugar, softened butter, heavy cream, and peppermint extract. Mix until a thick dough forms. For a visual touch, add a drop or two of green food coloring and stir until evenly dispersed. Adjust the texture by adding a bit more cream if dry, or more sugar if sticky.
  2. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls, then gently press them to form discs. Arrange these discs on a parchment-lined baking sheet, ensuring some space in between. Place the sheet in the freezer for about 20–30 minutes to let them firm up.
  3. As the mint creams chill, melt the chocolate. Combine the chocolate chips and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl, heating in 30-second intervals, and stirring each time until smooth and melted. Once the creams are firm, dip each one in the chocolate using a fork. Allow excess chocolate to drip off before setting them back on the parchment-lined sheet.
  4. With the creams dipped and placed on the tray, return them to the refrigerator for about 15 minutes. This cooling period will set the chocolate to a firm consistency, ready for serving.

Notes

Adjust the green food coloring to achieve the preferred minty hue.
