  • Author: Alioui
  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

This indulgent recipe combines the rich tastes of garlic, herbs, and ranch seasoning, resulting in tender chicken bathed in a luxurious sauce that’s sure to have everyone asking for seconds.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp mixed herbs
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1½ tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp butter (for sauce)
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1 cup chicken stock
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • 1 tbsp ranch seasoning

Instructions

  1. Begin by slicing the chicken breasts into thin cutlets, which will allow them to cook evenly and quickly. Season both sides of the chicken with the garlic powder, mixed herbs, salt, and black pepper. This seasoning mix infuses the chicken with flavor, enhancing the dish’s overall taste. Let the seasoned chicken rest for a few minutes as it absorbs the spices, setting the stage for a delicious meal.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and 1½ tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat. Once the butter has melted and the mixture is hot, add the seasoned chicken cutlets to the pan. Sear them for 3 to 4 minutes on each side until they turn a beautiful golden brown. This step is crucial as the searing adds a lovely caramelization that boosts the flavor of the dish. Once cooked, remove the chicken from the skillet and keep it warm on a plate, tented with foil to retain heat.
  3. In the same skillet, lower the heat slightly and add 1 tablespoon of butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds, stirring constantly to prevent it from burning. Next, sprinkle in the flour, cooking briefly to form a roux. This is where the base for our creamy sauce begins to come to life! Gradually whisk in the chicken stock to avoid lumps, bringing the mixture to a gentle simmer. Allow it to thicken for a few minutes while stirring occasionally.
  4. Once the sauce has thickened, lower the heat and slowly whisk in the sour cream and ranch seasoning. Mixing these ingredients creates a luscious and creamy sauce that envelops the chicken perfectly. Return the seared chicken to the pan, spoon some sauce over the top, and let it simmer together for an additional 2 to 3 minutes. This allows the chicken to soak up some of the sauce’s creamy goodness. Serve hot and enjoy your mouthwatering Creamy Ranch Chicken.

Notes

Ensure chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C) for food safety.
