Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 4 oz cream cheese
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
- 1 tbsp dried Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh thyme or parsley for garnish
Instructions
- To kick off this tasty recipe, start by placing the boneless skinless chicken into your crockpot. Season the chicken generously with salt and pepper, then sprinkle with garlic powder, onion powder, and a bit of paprika.
- Next, pour in the chicken broth to keep the chicken moist during cooking. Sprinkle the Italian seasoning over the top.
- Drizzle in olive oil or place pats of butter on top of the chicken. Cover the slow cooker with its lid.
- Cook your chicken on the Low setting for 6-7 hours or on High for 3-4 hours.
- Once your cooking time is up, use two forks to shred the chicken directly in the crockpot.
- Stir in softened cream cheese and heavy cream to create a velvety sauce.
- Uncover the crockpot and let it cook for an additional 10-15 minutes to thicken the sauce.
- Before serving, adjust the seasoning if necessary and garnish with fresh herbs.
