Description

If you’re craving something decadently delicious, these Kit Kat brownies are a must-try!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 200 g dark or milk chocolate
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 46 Kit Kat bars
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). This is an essential step to ensure that your brownies bake evenly. Next, take an 8×8-inch square baking pan and line it with parchment paper, leaving some overhang to make removing the brownies a breeze after they have cooled.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the unsalted butter and dark or milk chocolate. Heat them in the microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring after each session until the mixture is completely melted and smooth. Allow this mix to cool slightly while you work on the next steps.
  3. In a separate mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and large eggs. Using a whisk or electric mixer, beat them until the mixture becomes glossy and slightly thickened. This step is key for achieving a light and airy texture in your brownies.
  4. Add the cooled chocolate and butter mixture to the egg and sugar blend, along with the vanilla extract. Mix well until everything is fully integrated.
  5. Next, sift in your all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt. With a spatula, gently fold the mixture together until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this could lead to dense brownies.
  6. Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it out evenly. Next, arrange the Kit Kat bars on top, ensuring you cover the brownie layer. Finally, pour the remaining batter over the Kit Kat layer and spread it gently to cover them completely.
  7. For an extra chocolatey delight, sprinkle chocolate chips or additional Kit Kat pieces on top of the last layer of batter. This adds an appealing visual touch and enhances the chocolate flavor.
  8. Place the baking pan in the preheated oven and bake for 25–35 minutes. Keep an eye on the edges; they should be set while the center remains slightly soft — that’s where the fudgy goodness lies!
  9. Once done, remove the brownies from the oven and let them cool in the pan for about 10-15 minutes. Using the edges of the parchment paper, lift the brownies out of the pan and let them cool completely on a wire rack before slicing into squares.

Notes

Store your brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.
