  • Author: Alioui

Description

Indulging in a classic dessert like profiteroles in chocolate sauce is an experience that marries elegance and comfort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 6 ounces dark chocolate
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 400°F. In a medium saucepan, combine the water, unsalted butter, and salt. Heat this mixture over medium heat until it reaches a gentle boil. As soon as the butter has melted completely, add the flour all at once. Stir vigorously with a wooden spoon until the mixture forms a smooth dough that pulls away from the sides of the pan.
  2. Once your dough has formed, transfer it to a mixing bowl and let it cool for a few minutes. Now, add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Keep stirring until your dough becomes smooth and glossy.
  3. Next, transfer your dough to a piping bag fitted with a round tip. Pipe small rounds of dough onto the prepared baking tray, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
  4. To prepare the chocolate sauce, gently heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan until it's warm but not boiling. Remove it from the heat and add the dark chocolate. Stir until everything is melted and smooth.
  5. To serve, arrange the cooled profiteroles on a serving plate. Drizzle generously with the warm chocolate sauce, and enjoy this heavenly dessert!

Notes

For the best results, warm the chocolate sauce before drizzling to achieve a perfect pour.
