- 1 lb breakfast sausage
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 10 oz can Rotel diced tomatoes with green chilies, drained
- 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- Optional: chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the breakfast sausage, softened cream cheese, and drained Rotel tomatoes until smooth.
- Add shredded cheddar cheese, flour, baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper; mix until a sticky dough forms.
- Shape into small balls and place on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 18–22 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
- Cool slightly, garnish with parsley, and serve warm.
Notes
Always drain the Rotel tomatoes thoroughly to prevent a soggy mixture. Shredding your own cheese will yield a better melt and flavor.
