  • Sea salt flakes (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your cupcake pan with paper liners.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar using an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time to the butter-sugar mixture, and stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, and stir in the hot water.
  6. Divide the batter among the cupcake liners and bake for 18-20 minutes. Let cool completely on a wire rack.
  7. Use a small knife to remove the center of each cupcake and fill with caramel sauce.
  8. Top each cupcake with a layer of peanut butter frosting, drizzle with salted caramel sauce, and add sea salt flakes.
