Description

This Steak, Egg, and Cheese Bagel is a delightful and hearty breakfast or brunch option that combines fluffy eggs, savory steak, and rich cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 small onion, sliced thinly
  • 1/2 pound shaved steak
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon Montreal steak seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 slices American cheese
  • 2 bagels, halved and toasted

Instructions

  1. Start by creating the sauce that adds a delightful kick to your bagel sandwiches. In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, mustard, and dried dill. Mix them well until you achieve a smooth, creamy texture. Cover the bowl and let it chill in the refrigerator to allow the flavors to meld.
  2. In a skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Once the butter starts to sizzle, add the sliced onions along with a pinch of salt. Cook the onions for about 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they become softened and lightly browned.
  3. With the skillet still on the heat, add another tablespoon of butter. Once melted, pour in the beaten eggs. Cook the eggs, gently folding them with a spatula, until they are fluffy and slightly runny.
  4. In a bowl, toss the shaved steak with Worcestershire sauce and Montreal steak seasoning. Melt the remaining tablespoon of butter in the skillet, and once it’s hot, add the seasoned steak. Cook the steak until it is nicely browned and cooked through.
  5. While the steak and onions are cooking, toast the bagels either in a toaster or on the skillet until they are golden brown.
  6. Spread the prepared sauce generously on each toasted bagel half. On the bottom half, layer the scrambled eggs and then top with the savory steak, onion, and melted cheese combination.
