  • Author: Alioui

Description

Strawberry Delight is a refreshing summer dessert that combines sweet strawberries, whipped cream, and cream cheese in a light, airy treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar, sifted
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream, cold
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 box store-bought or homemade ladyfinger cookies or sponge cake pieces

Instructions

  1. Start by placing your sliced strawberries into a mixing bowl. Add the granulated sugar, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Gently toss these ingredients together until the strawberries are evenly coated. Leave the mixture for at least 30 minutes.
  2. In another large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar. Use an electric mixer to blend these ingredients until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy.
  3. In a chilled bowl, pour the cold heavy whipping cream. Beat the cream using a mixer on high speed until stiff peaks form.
  4. Carefully fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture.
  5. Begin by placing a layer of ladyfinger cookies or sponge cake pieces at the base of your serving dish. Spoon some of the macerated strawberries over the top. Spread a layer of the cream cheese and whipped cream mixture on top. Repeat this process, finishing with a layer of the cream mixture.
  6. Place the assembled dessert in the refrigerator for at least two hours.
  7. Top your dish with additional fresh strawberries or a sprinkle of lemon zest before serving.

Notes

If you prefer a homemade touch, bake your own sponge cake to use in place of ladyfinger cookies. Make sure the cream cheese is entirely softened to avoid lumps in your cream mixture.
