Irresistible Stuffed Mushrooms

  • Author: Alioui
  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 12 servings 1x

Description

This mouthwatering appetizer is not only incredibly simple to prepare but also brings a burst of flavor that is sure to please.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 12 large fresh mushrooms, stems removed
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • Olive oil, for drizzling
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). This step is crucial as it ensures your stuffed mushrooms bake evenly, resulting in tender caps and a deliciously golden-brown topping.
  2. Using a damp cloth, gently clean each mushroom to remove any dirt or debris. Once cleaned, carefully remove the stems from the mushrooms. Set the caps aside, ensuring they are dry, as excess moisture can affect the filling. Chop the removed stems finely, as they’ll be added to the delicious filling mixture, enhancing the overall flavor of your dish.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, finely chopped green onions, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Use a fork or spoon to mix the ingredients thoroughly until they are well combined and form a creamy filling. The filling should be thick enough to hold its shape when spooned into the mushroom caps, so feel free to adjust the seasoning to your liking.
  4. Take a spoon and generously fill each mushroom cap with the creamy filling, pressing down slightly to ensure they are well-packed. Don’t be shy—load them up! Repeat this process until all the mushroom caps are filled.
  5. Once all your mushrooms are filled, arrange them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Drizzle a little olive oil over the tops of the stuffed mushrooms, which will help to keep them moist while they bake and promote that lovely golden-brown color.
  6. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the stuffed mushrooms for approximately 20 minutes. The mushrooms should become tender, and the tops will turn golden and slightly crispy. Keep an eye on them towards the end of the cooking time to prevent burning.
  7. Once they are finished baking, remove the mushrooms from the oven and allow them to cool for just a few minutes. If desired, sprinkle fresh parsley over the top for a touch of color and added flavor. Serve your stuffed mushrooms warm to enjoy the melty filling and irresistible aroma!

Notes

Stuffed mushrooms can be frozen before or after baking. For best results, freeze them in an airtight container. Just remember to thaw them properly before baking again.
