Instructions

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C). This initial step is important to ensure that the sweet potatoes cook evenly and achieve that perfect caramelized finish.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the peeled and cubed sweet potatoes with the melted unsalted butter. Toss the cubes to fully coat them in butter, which helps facilitate maximum flavor absorption. Next, add the brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Mix well until each piece of sweet potato is completely covered in the flavorful mixture.
  3. Spread the coated sweet potato pieces evenly on the prepared baking sheet. Ensuring they are in a single layer is key for proper roasting — overcrowding will lead to steaming, rather than that desirable caramelization. Once arranged, place the baking sheet in your preheated oven.
