Description
Imagine combining the flavors of the iconic Big Mac into a delightful, bite-sized form that’s bursting with cheesy goodness.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/3 cup finely minced or grated white onion
- 1/3 cup chopped dill pickles
- 1/2 pound block of American cheese
- 1 package of 24 frozen dinner rolls (thawed)
- 1 large egg, beaten
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
Instructions
- Begin by thawing the roll dough as instructed on the package. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to get it ready for baking.
- Combine ground beef, onion powder, garlic salt, salt, black pepper, minced onions, and dill pickles in a large bowl. Form 24 equal portions. Next, slice your cheese block into small, approximately half-inch cubes. Shape each meat mixture portion into a flat circle, place a cheese cube in the center, and mold the meat around it to form meatballs.
- Lightly brown the meatballs in a skillet. This step ensures that they hold together well and prevents the inner cheese from leaking out prematurely. Make sure to brown all sides without cooking them through.
- Roll each thawed dough circle slightly larger than the meatballs. Carefully wrap the dough around the meatballs, sealing the edges underneath. Arrange these balls seam-side down on your prepared baking sheet. Brush them with beaten egg and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 18–20 minutes or until the buns achieve a golden-brown hue. Serve warm with Big Mac sauce or your favorite dip.
Notes
Ensure that the dough properly seals around each meatball to avoid leaking cheese during baking.
