Description

This Keto Cheesy Ground Beef Skillet is a quick and delicious meal that fits your keto diet!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp cream cheese
  • 1/2 tsp Dijon mustard

Instructions

  1. Begin your cooking adventure by placing a large skillet over medium heat and adding a tablespoon of olive oil. Heat the oil until it shimmers slightly — this step is essential for ensuring that your onions sauté evenly. Once the oil is ready, add the finely chopped onion and sauté for about 3–4 minutes, or until the onions turn translucent.
  2. Next, toss in the minced garlic and ground beef. Stir everything together, breaking the meat apart as it cooks. You’ll want to cook the beef until it turns a nice brown color, which should take about 6–8 minutes. Keep an eye on the skillet, and if there is any excess grease, don’t hesitate to drain it.
  3. While your beef is cooking, you can prepare the broccoli. Blanch the florets in boiling water for about 3–4 minutes until they’re bright green and tender-crisp. Drain and add them to the skillet with your beef mix.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and incorporate the cream cheese, heavy cream, and Dijon mustard into the skillet. Stir these ingredients slowly until the sauce becomes smooth and creamy.
  5. Finally, sprinkle the shredded cheddar and mozzarella over the top and cover the skillet for about 2–3 minutes, enabling the heat to melt the cheese perfectly.

Notes

Keep an eye on the broccoli to avoid overcooking; aim for bright green and tender but still crisp.
