- 3 ripe bananas, mashed

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour four 8-inch cake pans.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
- Add the flour mixture alternately with the sour cream to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Stir in the mashed bananas and chopped walnuts.
- Divide the batter among the prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes. Check for doneness.
- Once baked, cool the cakes in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
- Assemble the cake by layering with caramel sauce and garnishing with walnut halves.
