- 8 mozzarella string cheese sticks
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs (beaten)
- 2 cups panko breadcrumbs
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- Olive oil spray (or melted butter)
Instructions
- Begin by separating your onion into rings of about ½-inch thickness. Use a paper towel to pat them dry.
- Take your mozzarella string cheese sticks and carefully wrap one inside each onion ring, ensuring the cheese is sealed within the ring.
- Organize your breading ingredients into three bowls: one for flour, one for beaten eggs, and one for the panko mixture.
- Dredge each stuffed onion ring in flour, then dip in eggs, and finally coat with panko mixture. Place on a baking sheet.
- Bake at 400°F for 15-18 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving hot with your choice of dipping sauce.
