Description
Satisfying your sweet tooth doesn’t always require a time-consuming, complex recipe. With these No-Bake Chocolate Oatmeal Cookie Bars, you can indulge in a dessert that is both delicious and easy to prepare.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 cups quick oats
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Optional: 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Begin by lining your 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper or lightly greasing it to ensure easy removal of the bars after setting.
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the unsalted butter, milk, granulated sugar, unsweetened cocoa powder, and salt. Stir these ingredients until they are well combined, then bring the mixture to a boil. Allow it to boil gently for 1-2 minutes before removing it from the heat.
- Once the mixture is removed from heat, stir in the creamy peanut butter and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth. Gradually add in the quick oats, making sure they are evenly coated with the chocolate mixture.
- Pour the blended mixture into your prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly to ensure a uniform thickness.
- Allow the bars to cool and set at room temperature or expedite the process by placing them in the refrigerator. Once set, slice the bars into 24 pieces and they are ready to serve.
Notes
Ensure to stir the mixture continuously to prevent it from sticking or burning during cooking. For a firmer texture, allow the bars to chill in the refrigerator longer before slicing.
