Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon light corn syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Gel food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Begin by sifting the 2 cups of powdered sugar into a medium bowl.
  2. Add 2 tablespoons of milk or water, light corn syrup, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth.
  3. If too thick, add more milk or water; if too runny, add more powdered sugar.
  4. Divide icing into bowls, tint with gel food coloring as desired.
  5. Use piping bags or spoons to decorate cookies.
  6. Allow cookies to dry completely for 6-12 hours.
  7. Store any leftover icing in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
