Description
Pineapple Brown Sugar Mississippi Lil’ Smokies Bites are the ultimate party appetizer that will leave your guests begging for more. The combination of sweet pineapple and rich brown sugar enveloped around savory Lil’ Smokies sausages creates an irresistible flavor explosion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 packages (14 oz each) of Lil’ Smokies sausages
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup pineapple juice
- 1 cup pineapple chunks (fresh or canned)
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for a kick)
Instructions
- In a medium-sized bowl, start by combining the brown sugar, pineapple juice, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and if you’re feeling adventurous, the cayenne pepper. Use a whisk to blend these ingredients until the sugar is thoroughly dissolved, and the mixture is homogenous.
- Next, you’ll want to transfer your Lil’ Smokies sausages into the slow cooker. Once they’re in, pour the glaze over the sausages. Gently stir everything together to ensure that each sausage is fully coated in the sweet, sticky mixture.
- Add the pineapple chunks into the slow cooker, mixing them in with the sausages and the glaze.
- Cover your slow cooker and set it to cook. You have two options: cook on low for 4 hours or on high for 2 hours. Be sure to stir occasionally.
Notes
For the best flavor, allow the sausages to marinate in the glaze for an hour before cooking.
