  • Author: Alioui
  • Total Time: 1 hour 20 minutes
  • Yield: 12 rolls 1x

Description

Fluffy, golden, and incredibly soft, these rolls are a fantastic choice for any occasion!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup warm whole milk (105–110°F)
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 1/2 to 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter for brushing

Instructions

  1. To begin, activate the yeast by combining warm milk and granulated sugar in a bowl. Sprinkle the yeast and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add melted butter, egg, and salt, then whisk until combined.
  3. Mix in flour until a slightly tacky dough forms, then knead for 6-8 minutes.
  4. Place in a greased bowl to rise for 30-45 minutes until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down, divide into 9-12 portions, and shape into rolls.
  6. Arrange in a greased baking pan and let rise for another 20-30 minutes.
  7. Bake at 375°F for 18-22 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Brush tops with melted butter before serving.

Notes

Best results with warm milk—not hot; add milk if dough is crumbly; cover rolls to keep moist.
